Senior Principal Pharmacist (Specialist)

 

Hwa Lin is a Senior Principal Pharmacist (Specialist) at National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and Assistant Director (Education) at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with Honors (2nd Upper), and Masters in Clinical Pharmacy from Queen's University, Belfast. She holds US Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy with Added Qualification in Infectious Diseases, American Association of HIV Pharmacist certificate, and ISTM Certificate in Travel Medicine, and is an Infectious Disease Specialist Pharmacist in Singapore.

As the Unit Head of NCID Pharmacy, Hwa Lin was actively involved in both outpatient and inpatient management of patients. She was involved in the management with a few outbreaks such as SARs, H1N1, measles, the first imported monkey pox case in Singapore and now COVID-19. Besides outbreak management, Hwa Lin has been actively involved in other areas of Infectious Diseases particularly on the management of HIV/AIDs patients. She pioneered the first Pharmacist-led Drug Adherence Program for HIV/AIDs patients in Singapore. She has interest in HIV medicine, outbreak management and travel medicine

Hwa Lin is also actively involved in undergraduate and post-graduate education and training. She is an adjunct at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and a faculty member with National Healthcare Group (NHG) college, Associate Program Director for the National Residency Program R1 and Chief Preceptor for TTSH Pre-Registration Pharmacist Training Program.
