Assistant Professor Chia Po Ying graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. She completed her MRCP (UK) and Masters in Internal Medicine as well as her specialist training in Infectious Diseases. She is currently an Infectious Disease Consultant at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Besides caring for patients, she also serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme, and is also an educator with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University and member of the Programme Evaluation Committee, National Healthcare Group (NHG) Infectious Diseases Residency Programme.
Assistant Professor Chia has also been awarded the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Research Training Fellowship and the NHG-NTU Clinician Scientist Fellowship and has completed her PhD in the pathogenesis of dengue in adult patients. She currently heads the NCID Research Office and her areas of interests include general ID, Dengue and other Emerging Infectious Diseases, and Antimicrobial stewardship.
