P.H Feng Research Centre

The Clinical Research & Innovation Office (CRIO) promotes and coordinates research activities in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and is equipped with skills and capabilities to support its research enterprise.

One example is the P.H Feng Research Centre (PHFRC), named in memory of the late Professor Feng Pao Hsii (1936–2015), a visionary medical leader who established the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Clinical Research Unit in 1997. The Research Centre is intended to support researchers with clinical trials of new medications where study participants may need to stay after office hours or overnights for trial procedures. The mission of PHFRC is to provide facility and trial management support to researchers within NCID and the National Health Group.

Located at level 2 of NCID within the integrated HealthCity Novena community, the Research Centre offers the following facilities:

  • Examination and consultation rooms

  • Properly equipped inpatient ward for drug studies

  • Drug storage and preparation

  • Laboratory specimen processing

  • Records storage

  • Volunteer entertainment room
