Law Hwa Lin is a Senior Principal Pharmacist (Specialist) at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with Honours (Second Upper) from the National University of Singapore and a Master's in Clinical Pharmacy from Queen's University, Belfast. Her credentials include US Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy, an American Association of HIV Pharmacist certificate, and an ISTM Certificate in Travel Medicine. She is also a registered Infectious Disease Specialist Pharmacist in Singapore.
As Unit Head of NCID Pharmacy, Hwa Lin has extensive experience in both outpatient and inpatient care. She has played crucial roles in managing several disease outbreaks, including SARS, H1N1, measles, Singapore's first imported monkeypox case, and COVID-19. Beyond outbreak management, she has made significant contributions to Infectious Disease treatment, particularly in HIV/AIDS patient care. Notably, she established Singapore's first Pharmacist-led Drug Adherence Program for HIV/AIDS patients. Her areas of expertise include HIV medicine, outbreak management, and travel medicine. As a collaborative prescriber, she currently runs the Travel and Health Clinic at Tan Tock Seng Hospital under a collaborative agreement.
In addition to her clinical work, Hwa Lin is dedicated to education and training. She serves as an adjunct faculty member at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and is a faculty member with National Healthcare Group (NHG) College. She holds the positions of Residency Program Director for the National Residency Program R1 and Chief Preceptor for the TTSH Pre-Registration Pharmacist Training Program.
