Dr Ang is Senior Consultant in the Department of Infectious Diseases at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.

She graduated from the National University of Singapore and received the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) also from NUS. She spent two years at the Mayo Clinic as a Visiting Clinician and Visiting Scientist and completed her Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is a Fellow of Academy of Medicine (Singapore) and a member of Society of Hospital Epidemiologists of America.

Dr Ang is Chairman of TTSH Infection Control Committee, Chairman, Infection Control Workgroup under National Antimicrobial Taskforce (MOH), as well as advisor to KKH Infection Control Committee.
Besides involvement in training of residents, medical officers and medical students in Department of ID, TTSH, she is Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and helps mentor trainees as a Visiting Consultant to Department of Infectious Diseases, Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Ang’s clinical interests include healthcare-associated infections, hospital epidemiology and outbreak investigations and management. For her work during SARS in 2003, she received the National Day Award (Medal of Valour) and the Courage Medal.
