Associate Professor David Allen is a founding member of Singapore's Infectious Diseases community in 1989 and is currently active as a Senior Consultant Physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, National University Hospital as well as a Visiting Consultant to National Centre for Infectious Diseases and Singapore General Hospital. His academic interests center around the built environment's influence on infection transmission, and opportunistic infections in immune compromised individuals. A/Prof Allen also serves as Deputy Executive Director of the National University of Singapore's Centre for Population Health focusing on capacity building and strategic program development for the Health District @ Queenstown. A/Prof Allen interests in Population Health include facilitating employment for mature workers and addressing food insecurity in Singapore. His Doctorate of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Graduate Medical School.
